Designed and created by the Japanese American sculptor and designer Isamu Noguchi, this 2-story museum is located in Queens and is one of my favorites in New York. The first Friday of every month is free, otherwise $10 admission.
Roman and Williams Guild
This space is a mecca of design—furniture, tabletop, home accessories, library, flowers—built and outfitted from head to toe by this interior design duo. You’ll find true artisan treasures here and want to sit for a cup of tea at La Mercerie Café.
Ruchki da Nozhki
My favorite local nail salon never smells of chemicals and uses natural products. It’s on the pricier side but they have mani + pedi specials Monday thru Wednesday. It gets busy on the weekend, so make an appointment!
Located on the 11th floor of Sister City, Last Light has sweeping views of downtown Manhattan and seating on the roof. There’s a live DJ on select nights and their snack menu is great for sharing. Need a full meal? Floret is just downstairs.
Whitney Museum of American Art
For the modern art fans, the new Whitney Museum located at the base of the High Line is a stunner—great if you are hitting up all the touristy sites in Chelsea. On Fridays from 7-10pm it’s pay-what-you-wish, otherwise $25 admission.
